KB is 100% owned by the Zion Christian Church. 1997 An initiative by His Grace Bishop Dr B.E. Lekganyane and the previous Vice President the honourable Dr Ponatshego Kedikilwe. This clinic was donated to the Botswanan Health Department in Mopane Village, Gaborone. 2016 A fully equipped Toyota Land Cruiser was donated to serve as an ambulance for the Mmopane Clinic. 2022 On 7th September 2018 the Kganya Benefits Funds Trust communicated to Botswana ZCC members that NBFIRA required KB ceases operations, however that members that were in good standin g as at August 2018, could continue to submit their claims to BLIL. 2018 KB and Botswana Life Insurance Limited (BLIL) offered Botswana ZCC members, on a voluntary basis , to join the Pukwana Ya Kganya Group Scheme Policy (PYK GP). Z ION C HR I ST I AN C HURCH KB was duly licensed as an Insurance Agent with NBFIRA in November 2018 and communication was sent out to all the Botswana ZCC branches to inform members that a new product, being Pukwana Ya Kganya Individual Policy (PYK IP) would commence on the 1st April 2019. Members were notified of the changes and the transition that was to take place for them to be individual policyholders. 2019 2018 The NON-Banking Financial Institutions Regulatory Authority ( NBFIRA ) requested KB to register as an Insurance Agent and to cease operations in August 2018, until KB was licensed as an Insurance Agent. Premiums paid for PYK GP as an insurance risk policy are non-refundable even if the risk event did not occur. This is to ensure that all PYK GP members could enjoy cover should an insured risk event occur. 2024 KB & BLIL continue to offer more than 35 000 PYK IP policyholders , funeral and personal accident cover on a voluntary basis . Since inception, more than 89% percent of all claims submitted are approved. 2019 BLIL committed to honour all claims of members in good standing between August 2018 until April 2019.
