24 8. PERSONAL ACCIDENT BENEFITS 8.1 Benefits Personal Accident Benefits are underwritten by BLIL as a registered long-term Insurer. Personal Accident Benefit amounts are set out in the Annexure under the heading PERSONAL ACCIDENT BENEFITS. 8.2 Good Standing A Claim in respect of a Personal Accident Benefit will only be allowed if a Policyholder is in Good Standing by virtue of: • payment of a Premium with a Date of Payment in the Month preceding the Month in which the Date of Accident occurred; or • payment of a Premium with a Date of Payment in the Month in which the Date of Accident occurred provided the Date of Payment is prior to the Date of Accident. A Premium will only have a Date of Payment in a particular Month if the Date of Payment is on or before the last day of such Month. Premiums paid on or after the Date of Accident will be excluded. 8.3 Claims Submissions BLIL will, from time to time, determine the documentation required and the basis for submitting Personal Accident Benefit Claims. Any determination by BLIL will be set out in an amended Annexure and distributed to Policyholders via Church Branch Committee Members by Kganya Botswana. A Claim for a Personal Accident Benefit must: • be made by a Policyholder; • within a period of 3 (three) Months after the Date of Accident; • by submitting the documents specified in the Annexure under the heading PERSONAL ACCIDENT BENEFIT CLAIMS REQUIREMENTS to BLIL on the basis set out therein. A Claim shall not be considered to be submitted to BLIL unless and until these provisions have been fulfilled. PERSONAL ACCIDENT BENEFITS
